Infertility
Hello:
First let me say I'm not a doctor, but know your frustration VERY well. I see no one responded so I thought i would share this: I'm in the same boat- husband sperm count is good and having been trying for about 2 yrs. No luck. However, what I've found is that i too thought I had all the "right tests" and tried clomid, but perhaps you have low progesterone levels, which is needed to sustain a pregnancy. Do yourself a favor and go to this web site: samidavid.com. This is a NY doctor who specializes in trying to find every possible cause of infertility and co-wrote a very interesting book with a woman named jill Blakeway. This doc will only recommend IVF as a last resort, but has had success helping women who have tried for years without needing IVF. I must warn you that he does not take insurance, but the consultation alone can tell you alot about where you stand. At least check out his book, (making babies- a proven 3 month program it tells you alot about things you could do. I can tell you that I'm seeing this doc now, and I've gotten more answers with him than any other doc before. Don't give up. Anything else I can help with please feel free to let me know. Stress is a big factor in stopping us from conceiving, and I know how hard it is for you. I'm older than you! Just try and be calm and hang in there. Best of luck to you!

Oh and I forgot to respond to your IUF and IVF question. Are you sure that IUF is not covered by your insurance? I know that IVF is probably NOT covered by any insurance. The cost of IVF can vary from 12,000-14,000 unfortunately, and often times, it doesn't work the 1st time. Sometimes it takes 2, or 3 or more tries. But again, since you've miscarried you need to be pretty sure of what caused the miscarriage. You may not need IVF, you never know until you get very specific answers. Not just a "guess" from a doc. Dig deeper. I thought the same and tried 1 round of IFV, and it failed, so I'm trying to get better answers before I make another move.
