My sister in law experienced hte same problems, she had very bad cramps and lots of bleeding. She took it out after about 4 months. Some women just can't use this method of protection.

the IUD is horrible!
I had an IUD (copper no hormones) for a little over one year. Never in my life had i experienced so much discomfort, multiple on-going yeast infections that NEVER cleared up. Until one day i experience a stabbing senstation in my lower back that made it uncomfortable to sit and walk upright, sleep, sex was out of the question for alomost the entire time i had the iud because it hurt!
I visited to my OBGYN and she discoved that my IUD was pushing out of my cervix! My body was trying to get rid of this horrible foriegn device! She removed it right away. Needless to say ever since then its been a battle trying to find BC that works well with my body. I was told by my doctors at Johns Hopkins that the IUD should NEVER be placed in women that have NEVER had children. So my advice to you is have it removed if you are experiencing what you are...it only gets worse.
