Hey all. A few days ago I began noticing a
patch of an irritated and itchy rash on my
stomach. I went to a physician and he
didn't even tell me what it was. He did,
however, prescribe a tube of Mupirocin, http://en.wikipedia.org/w
iki/Mupirocin
I was instructed to apply this 2-3 times a
day after cleaning it with hydrogen
peroxide for a total of 14 days, or 2
weeks. It's been a few days now and it
doesn't seem to be reducing, but it isn't
spreading either. It does, however, seem
to be growing more intense and itchy in
the localized spot that has been affected.
I'm going back to the physician tomorrow
as a part of a check up so he can assess
the situation, but I'd figure I would see
what the internet had to say.
i have the same rash for years Posted: 04-28-08 10:54am
my doctor said it was eczema so its
seasonal he said moisturized all the time
3 times a day i did but it comes and goes
left bad scars too.

If the tinyurl link is giving you a

Well, It could be eczema so you could get
some cream for it. hopefully its not.
anyway you could just have a illergic
reaction to something like the material of
your clothing or something.

I've since gotten over this rash. I
visited my doctor regularly for a few
weeks and it turns out that it was viral.
My doctor's best guess is that it was
shingles, so I was put on valtrex for 7
days. It healed up in no time after that.
It was pretty itchy/painful for 2-3 weeks
though.
