Hoping someone can help. I am a 40 year old male and I suffer from an unbearably itchy neck that seems to flare up after exercise. I have had the condition for the last 2 years and it seems to be getting worse. I also have itchy forearms and wrists, but not to the same extent as my neck. I am woken every night with the itching, usually with the result that I have scratched myself raw. Heat certainly makes the condition worse. I have tried everything I can think of including seeing a skin specialist who was at a loss as to what was causing the problem.
I have been told it is not eczema.
I have not changed wash powders or conditioners
I have not changed soaps etc.
I have had no change in diet.
I have tried moisturizers/hydochortizone/eumobase etc etc.
Nothing seems to work.
Any ideas / help?

Sounds like eczema because I've had eczema ever since I was a baby and even today when I sweat or work out, my neck and the creases at the elbow of my arms flair up. Just my personal experience with eczema. My rashes start out as very itchy and then the skin turns pink and looks dry. I apply cetaphil cream to my arms and neck at night which usually keeps it under control. Just remember to shower after working out and moisturize. It may not be eczema so I would go see a dermatologist if you're concerned.

Re: Itchy Neck And Arms
Hi there...
I sure hear what you are saying because I have the same problem. There is nobody that can tell me what it is either and I agree it is very frustrating. I have had this for about 1 and a half years now. It used to be just the forearms now it runs up my arms and across my neck. I to notice it gets worse whn im hot. Some moisturizers sting when i use them. I find pure olive oil helps to sooth it without the perfumes. It is natural and moisturizes at the same time. Also one question... do you use tanning beds?
