Q: itchy mole

I have a raised mole on my back which I think has been there a while..not sure. It has started itching a lot and seems bigger than usual. Also swollen around it. Mole is light colored as best I can tell. But it also hurst some along with the itching.
Called my dermatologist and cannot get in for 6 weeks. Should I worry about it.

Hi
I have found it a waste of time to "worry" about things we can not control. Can you not find a dermotologist who can see you sooner? You have made a very wise choice in getting this taken care of. If it should turn out to be anything, you are getting it taken care of. Its hard to say "not to worry about it" cause I have been there. If you really are anxious about it, try to find a dermotologist who can possibly see you sooner. Or, at least call yours back and tell them you will take any cancelations! Typical moles/skin lesions do not grow or itch. Hope everything turns out well for you!

Many Thanks
Thanks for your reply. I am calling everyday to check on cancellations. I just want to be sure I get a good dermatologist and this one I have been to before. I did try to get another one in her office but no luck there either. But you are right worry does no good. If it gets much worse or bigger I will go to another office. I prefer to wait.....I hope that will not prove to be a mistake

Always Welcome
Hopefully I have set your mind at ease......for at least a while. You have addressed the problem, now its the hurry up and wait game that eats you alive............if you let it. What will be will be. We have the choice on how we handle situations. I have learned (finally) to take the POSITIVE road). Going to take the bull by the you know what and make it come out positive. Just focus on about August...this will all be over and done and healing nicely! Instead of dreading it, carry on with your happy life. Then you can bite the bullet when the appointment day comes! You're a Trooper.........Hang Tuff! Keep me posted!
