Q: itchy eyes discharge

For the past few weeks my eyes have been irregularly itchy to the point where I can spend a good few minutes rubbing them. I didn't take notice of this until about a week ago when I woke up with a circular cut on my eyelid which was pretty raw and made it very painful to blink. Two days later I awoke to find a discharge in the corners of my eye and my eyelashes were crusted over. I took this to be a sign I had a case of conjunctivitis (which I had around ten years ago). Since that day I have had any more discharge but the skin around my eye slowly got more and more dry and now it has become raw once more and started to look like scar tissue. I haven't been scratching them recently because I thought that might be the cause but it obviously isn't.

The thing that's worrying me most is that this started out as a tiny dot on the upper lid of my left eye but has now spread to my lower lid and is slowly starting to appear on my right eye.

I have a family history of eczema but I'm not suffering from these symptoms anywhere else on my body (I have been irregularly itchy on my back but there is no dry skin or anything accompanying that). I can't get to my gp until Tuesday so any help would be much appreciated.

Extremely eHealthy
A bump formed on your lid was probably a stye, an infected sebaceous gland at the base of eye lashes.
This can be preceded with redness, tenderness and pain.
Accompanying symptoms of a stye are itching, swelling, watering of the eye, sensitivity to light, and discomfort when blinking.
A blepharitis (an eczematous condition of the eyelids) can make you more prone to forming styes.
Blepharitis (redness, itching, irritation) is usually misdiagnosed as conjuctivitis.
Actually you may have a staphylococcal blepharitis that has result in formed stye.
