Can anyone help me? I'm dteespera

My tongue is on fire, it has small white spots all over it and itches like crazy. I really can stop itching it. Its so painful.
I had it about a month ago, it lasted nine days and my doctor said it was an infection. My two small toddlers had it too.
The itchiness has suddenly come back again i've had it now for two or three days can it possibly be the same thing again?
All that would ease the itching was a very intense mouth wash and ice chewing gum but this only worked for five minutes or so.
Does anybody know what this is or how to sooth it?
