Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

Yes, rashes are common during pregnancy. There are some rashes associated with pregnancy like Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP), Prurigo of pregnancy, Pruritic folliculitis of pregnancy, and Pemphigoid gestationis. PUPPP is the most common, however it is seen more on stretch marks and during the third trimester. If you have gained a lot of weight during your pregnancy then this is a possibility.

Prurigo of pregnancy is due to abnormal hormone levels, will disappear on delivery and reappear on subsequent pregnancy. These conditions are harmless both for mother and baby. Steroid creams & ointments, moisturizing creams, aloe vera lotions, wet soaks, calamine lotions are usually enough to control both. Pemphigoid gestationis is an autoimmune rash, disappears with end of pregnancy, may flare up just before delivery, and can affect the baby. This needs to be diagnosed early for proper care during pregnancy.

Other than this it can be a rash not associated with pregnancy like eczema, contact dermatitis due to your skin touching something etc. Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please consult your gynecologist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!

Yes i heard that you feel itchy and a sense of irritation persists during pregnancy. A very good friend of mine told me her experience.
