Has anyone else experienced intense itching all over your body while on Tri Sprintec? This is my 3rd month and this is the first I am noticing horrible itching everywere. (not in genital area) I am also experiencing what feels like the start of horrible charlie horses in my calves, like if I point my toes or stretch my legs too much they feel like they are going to tense up and go into a cramp...this is driving me nuts.

I've been on Sprintec for about a year. Never once have I noticed that. Maybe your allergic to something or got into something that could cause this.

Tri-Sprintec
I was actually relieved to find your posting. I have been on birth control for 9 years & swithced to tri-sprintec last week. I have never had ANY problems with borth control, however after taking Tri-Sprintec for 4 days, I began having the itchiest & most irritated legs ever! Only today did I finally put it together that it's probably the switch in birth control that I'm having an allergic reaction to. I am going to stop taking the pills & see if the severe irritation goes away.

I'm curious to hear what you ended up doing or how you treated your irritation.

The estrogen in the birth control may be the cause of the itching. It has something to do with the liver not clearing the estrogen. You may want to have your doctor do blood work to see if your liver enzymes are within the normal range. My wife has the same problem (they think it is genetic) and she has to take a progestin only birth control pill. The itching also became intolerable during pregnancy because the estrogen levels raise. This form is called cholestasis of pregnancy. I am not sure if this is what is causing your itching but it may help you.

Sprintec-itchy hands and feet!
My feet and hands have been itching like CRaZY since switching to Sprintec! I had to pull over on the side of the road in my car just to rip my shoes off and scratch my feet-it's that bad! So dissapointing because it's $4 with my insurance because it's generic. I was paying $38 for the ortho try cylene lo. I just can't handle the itching after 2 weeks. I'd rather be poor than going nuts scratching my feet and hands Sad anyone else have this?

I've had an intense, overwhelming, wake you up in the middle of the night, crying, itch all over my body. And it stopped when I forgot to take my ortho tri lo. Odd and very annoying. Really worried that all bc will be that way for me):

I have recently experienced intense itching due to this generic birth control. Mostly my scalp and around my chin. I stopped taking it and actually, the manufacturers have stopped making it all together due to patent infringements.
