I have probable MS, few non enhancing in Brain and 01 in cerivical. Diagnosed Dec 2008. My problem is severe itching in right hand and presenting classic CTS symptoms. NCS came negative. But I am convinced that I have CTS long before diagnosis of MS. Is there any other test that I may undergo to confirm my CTS.

Hello,

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out. CTS is a medical condition in which the median nerve is compressed at the wrist and the patient has the symptoms while sleeping. The other condition I can think of is brachial plexus injury. A brachial plexus injury occurs when the nerves that connect your arm and spinal cord get stretched or torn.


The reference standard for the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome is electrophysiological testing.You may also need to be tested electrodiagnostically with nerve conduction studies and electromyography.

I would advise you to please get yourself examined by a neurologist as a neurological examination and investigations are required to confirm the diagnosis.
