Q: Itching around eyes - allergies ?

Condition: Itching on skin, on the eyelid and bottom eyelids. Seems like a ring around my eyes. Does not affect my eyes only itching on skin. My skin will have an itch the minute I scratch it seems to grow. My eyelids get this little patch that is slightly swollan and my skin is red. However, it does not get to my eyelashes or get red. I wash my face and put Hydrocortisone (anti itch cream). It has relief, and put for 2 days and then stop. I have been getting this consistantly every other month or so. I have gone to the doctor, and just gave me Zyrtec. Which I was already taking. My question should I go to a specialist? Do you know what this maybe? I'm worried because it does not go away. Thank you.

Well when ever im around any animals mostly cats or horses my eyes swell shut become itchy and watery. My mom has allergies as well. She got me these homeopathic eye drops that are like natural tears and stuff then i usually take a benydril and that helps a lot. It has side effects and makes you sleepy but it helps. Hope this helps.
