I was bitten up by what is called grass lice(insect). At the same time i was warn to watch my diet by my doctor because i will suffer from diabetes.Since the last year and half, i have been suffering from intense itching, especially in the evenings until morning.I am not sure if it is the as a result of the insect bites or the diabetes that cause the problem.I almost tried everything to stop the itching, but it continues. Can anyone help me please.I am going insane. The itching comes on at times when i am hungry and when i am expose to the sun, when i am stressed or an increase in temperature.looking forward to hear a reply by someone.

Possibly urticaria? Does your skin become raised where you scratch it?

Urticaria is a harmless allergic reaction which can be caused by all sorts of things including stress and changes in temperature. Exposure to the sun etc. could also cause heat rash.

Sometimes itching gets worse at night with urticaria or with eczema. Do you have a rash?

If this is becoming troublesome, go to your doctor. It is probably just a mild skin condition or stress. I don't know of any link between diabetes and itching (although there is a link between diabetes and unexplained rashes - though I think this is still a "possible" link rather than a definite one).

An insect bite from 1.5 years ago is very unlikely to be linked to the itching you have now unless the grass lice (I have not heard of an insect by this name so I know nothing!) is well known for causing infections of the skin.

itching
Thank very much for your reply, may God go with you.Initially i will have rashes and it was because i practise scratching intensely.Presently from the advice from my dermatologist,he said to avoid scratching. I only try to scratch mildly because it is so difficult to do.Hence, the rashes are not there anymore, but everyday especially in the afternoon till morning the sensation returns.I will try to look at the possible Urticria. If you have any suggestion to treat this problem please let me know.My dermatologist have not been able diagnose me as yet.only thing he says is that it may be because of increase or decrease in temperature that cause the itching.looking forward for your reply.
