i've had a very bad itch inside of ear for years. tried over counter anti-itch creams, calamine, aveno. to help, but they all make itch worse. did have a prescription cream but used for 10days like told, then it came back. any ideas out there what i can do or whats causing it. there is flaky skin inside of ear. the more it itches the more i scratch. it wakes me up.any ideas?

I have exczema very badly! and i have tried a lot of creams and cant seem to find one that works!! There is a tiny pill that you can take that stops itching and it works. Also there is one cream that works, it is in a white and baby blue tube, but the only bad thing is that it bleaches your skin, which might not be bad if it is in your ear, and it might not bleach yours. Im not for sure on the names of these meds. but i will get back to you with the names.

Ear itching
I have the same problem! I had acne in my ear which took a while to heal, and the itching started right after. If I tilt my head to where the ear is facing downward, it tends to make the itching lessen or go away, but it's only a temporary fix. I've tried antibiotics, antifungals, even anti-inflammatories, but nothing works. Please, any help anyone can provide would be an absolute lifesaver. I keep going to ENTs and they've all been useless.

It probably isn't a good idea to put creams in your ear unless your doctor specifically tells you to. Some of the creams may not be hypoallergenic and may make the problem worse.

Have you tried oral antihistamines? Maybe ask your doctor about that. You be having an allergic reaction (which are also connected to eczema). Sometimes when my allergies are really bad, my ears and eyes get itchy.
