Q: Issue of conception and paternity

Between February and June, I was using the Nuva-RIng, and did not have periods. July, I stopped using it, and started a period on July 24 (approximately a 5-day cycle).
On August 13 and 17, I had unprotected sex with two different men, and then began a heavy period on August 19, which was approximately 5 days again.

*Note- even before the Nuva-Ring, my periods were always 5 days, and pretty predictable and normal.*

On August 24, my former boyfriend and I reunited, and have been back together and monogamous since, and have had intercourse at least 8-10 times since then.

Because my September period never occurred,
I took a pregnancy test on September 20, with positive results.

My question is: how likely do you think it is that either of the two men (August 13 or 17) would be the father?

I am in the process of scheduling a CVS, which is extremely risky and costly, and if I could just understand the pregnancy calculations a bit more, it would be helpful in making a decision.

I do have an appointment for an ultrasound on September 25, but I am a wreck, and embarassed to ask my doctor, who's known me for years and never heard anything like this from me.

Your profile says "easy going" and open minded"... Maybe if you are not going to hold true to that, you shouldn't even waste anyone's time by sending replies that are rude, highly judgemental, and overall, unbeneficial. Try MySpace.

Sorry to offend you..i just think women should respect and take much better care of themselves then that.
LMP of August 19 would mean that you are atleast 5 1/2 weeks gestation. Implantation usually occurs 5/6 days after fertilization. Heavy bleeding is unusual for implantation bleeding so if you are sure that was a normal period then your ultrasound should not measure anymore than ~6w2d (by Sept 25). If it is measuring larger ( 7weeks) i would consider the 2 men as well.
Take care.

Thank you. And you don't know my story, so please don't judge (which I've seen you do with other people on this site). That's not the purpose of this forum. Anyway, thank you again for the information.

The purpose of this site is to exchange information, some of that being opinion based. You might find it to be of judgemental nature, while others find it truthful. There are a WHOLE lot of people out there who are clueless to the fact that unprotected sex with people may cause an std (not saying this is you) but that is my first concern for these ppl.
