Q: stress mixed with my anxious thinking?

Hi,
I am wondering whether what I am feeling is anxiety/stress or something worse. One night I had an anxiety attack and felt as though I couldn't think clearly and thoughts were racing through my mind. The next morning the problem went away after I slept. That night though I had another anxiety attack and the morning after the problem didn't go away. Ever since then I feel weirder and weirder... I really think I'm going crazy, I feel as though I am honestly losing myself and my identity and I am unable to think clearly and feel as though my thoughts are in the back of my mind. There are times where I feel better, at points I can feel extremely positive (but the problem is still there and I try to ignore it), and worse, other times I can feel extremely depressed and demotivated. The worst thing is that over the past week or so I have been losing my 'personality'. I really don't know who I am anymore. Is this just adolescent stress mixed with my anxious thinking? Is it possible this is just depersonalisation and derealisation boosted to it's fullest by my non-stop anxious feelings? Or is it something more?
Please help!

This is totally understandable. Normally where there is stress there is bound to be some anxiety. Some more then others. I was forced to leave the medical feild after 23 years due to so much stress that turned into anxiety and was put on Xanax and was on that for 4 years and just a few months ago switch over to Klonopin. Yes, this is a world of stress and with that comes a world of anxiety. More and more people develope everyday. You are not alone on this board or in this world. Come here for comfort, knowing that we are here and going through the same thing you are. We can help you through this. You will not find a nicer family then you have found here.
Looking forward to reading your posts.

I know all too well...
I suffer from CONSTANT anxiety and know exactly how you feel. It makes one feel really helpless, especially the depressive moods and the demotivation. The demotivation is a real killer, because it makes you feel like a "lazy layabout", which is really not true. I can truely sympathise with your situation.

Have you concidered going for counceling? Even if it is normal day to day stress that brings on your anxiety, it won't hurt to talk to a doctor...even just your GP. They can prescribe you pills to get you over the "worste" of your stress/anxiety to allow your body and mind some breathing room to recover from all the stress that has most probably built up over time.

Hang in there...you are not alone
