Aloha folks,
I'm 34 y.o., 5'9", 168lbs, been having some anxiety issues for the past 2 months, and have had a host of weird symptoms: I've been having this slightly sore throat, feels inflammed, like i've got a cold or something, but with no fever. I also have had a really dry paranasal passageway that felt inflammed and raw. It feels like I also have something in the back of my throat, and sometimes it feels as if i'm wearing a necktie on too tight and feel like gagging. I've also had sharp stabbing pains in my head--not a headache, but just quick pains that resolve. It also feels like sometimes I have trapped gas that I can't burp out, but that seems to have gone away. I see my primary, and he thinks it could be stress related and acid reflux. I see an ENT, and he scopes me out and says my larynx passageway looks inflammed, and my paranasal passageway is inflammed too. He thinks it's acid reflux as well.
I'm not convinced.
I've never had acid reflux, and i'm not prone to heartburn, or anything like that. I've been in much more stressful situations, for longer periods, and have never had anything like this. I also don't have the tight constricting feelings in my chest, or heart attack like symptoms. None of that, actually. I'm just wondering, if this is truly acid reflux, and it's hitting me all the way up to my sinuses, wouldn't some of it be getting into my windpipe and causing me to have chest pains and tightening??? I have none of that.
I have been on Nexium for 2 weeks without any improvement in my sore throat symptoms.
Much thanks for all sincere, thoughtful replies.
