30 days back barber cut my pimple with beard trimmer. after 2 weeks i have fever (99-100)and sore throat. sore throat gone in 3 days but fever continues from 3 weeks but just 99 or below. after 28 days my HIV Proviral PCR DNA test is done(hydrabad Medicis lab). Result - NEGATIVE. but someone says there is a chance to get false negative in this test. i cant sleeps night. i am so scaring. is the result conclusive? am i hiv FREE.(sorry for my bad English). THANKS.

Hello and welcome to e health forum.

One of the main problems in relying on HIV symtoms themselves is that they are notoriously vague and almost all the symptoms may in fact be symptoms of a different disease.

HIV DNA PCR test - has zero false negative rate, and hence if a test is done after 2 weeks of exposure and the test is negative, it is definitely confirmatory of a HIV negative status.

Since your test was done at 28 days, it is definite that you do not have HIV infection.
