Q: Is pregnancy possible ?

Once again this month i have been trying to get pregnant, i have been trying to time it more successfully to be able to time sex but I'm not sure if i have. I'm due on my period either today or tomorrow. Not yet got it but i have been having a lot of arguments with my partner this month over various things so i was thinking there'd be no chance that i'd be pregnant this month. But, I'm just wondering i did have sex last night and I'm thinking say i didn't get pregnant the whole month coz of the way my partner and i have been then is it possible to get pregnant a day or two before your period and would it stop the bleed or would i still get this months bleed?

It's now the 17 June 2009, i was due on either yesterday or the day before and i haven't got my period yet but, this morning when i have woken up i have felt sick could just be because i haven't had breakfast yet but i'm never usually hungry in the morning.

I've heard that it's best just to leave taking a pregnancy test after a week of a missed period to let the hormone levels increase. But, does it sound like it could be possible that my partner and i have been lucky this month?

Are you ussually regular on your periods???,it could be stress but you could be pregnant!!,the only time ive ever been late is when im pregnant but i know for many it can be stress if i were you i'd take a test and just keep taking them until your period shows up,i know it can be dissappointing to see a negative but for me i did at least 3 a month whilst i was trying to concieve because i just couldnt wait! i was pretty much thinking i was a test addict lol, also when im pregnant i just know i am when i buy the test i know what the results going to be before i even get it home lol.ive only ever had this very stong feeling when ive been pregnant,it is easy to convice yourself you are but for me i was trying to convince myself i was getting too hopeful so that i wouldnt be dissapointed i was wrong about my feeling but in my case ive never been wrong so look out for that feeling! although not every woman gets it good luck Smile i'll keep my fingers crossed for you

oh yes and to answer your first question, yes its possible to get pregnant just before your period i know that many on here will dissagree but im only going off my personal experience with this pregnancy i got my last period on the 15/02/09 i was acctually bleeding and having period cramps for 4 days my normal period time and i was due on around this time, now ive had 3 scans which all say i got pregnant between the 11th and 14th of february.I couldnt believe it myself so i did some reasearch and apparently you can sometimes have your normal perod bleeding before an egg has been released and if this happens your body stores the egg after its release until the month after when it acctually ejects 2 eggs instead of one in your period blood but for me i got pregnant with the second fresh egg that was released so my body just ejected the one from the month before and the other fertilised one was growing away in my womb!.I did read that this is pretty rare though but still possible!! the one thing i really dont understand is that i had cramps and the cramps are caused by the womb contracting to release the womb lining but for me that shouldnt have been able to happen as my womb needed its lining so im still a little confused on the subject haha good luck hun Smile

Thank you for the advice.

Sometimes i feel like i am pregnant but sometimes i feel like i am getting my period. I am either 2 or 3 days late and i am usually quite regular, it's just every now and again that i am late. I'm just so scared to see negative test results and i have heard that it's best to leave it a week or two after a late period.

Today (18,06,09), When i got up this morning i felt a bit sick and been feeling quite emotional throughout the day but i don't know if i am looking for signs and trying to make myself believe that i am.

Thank you for keeping your fingers crossed for me, i want this so badly.

Do you think what i have told you sounds like pregnancy is possible or is it just that my period is late and i'll get it in a few days? Even my partner reckons he can feel butterflies in his stomach that am pregnant - he just wants to get in on the act haha! Smile

I have to get in on this.....I was told in order to get pregnant I needed to start and argument and "get my gander up" whatever that meant....I started an argument, knowing it would end in sex....and that night I got pregnant. YES, you very well could be pregnant. If this happens not to be a positive pregnancy, you can always keep trying. I wish you all the luck in this world! Keep us posted! FGM

ok will do, thanks for help.

I done a pregnancy test today but it was in the afternoon, as i was nervous i was hardly able to pee so i don't think i peed on the stick for long enough, but the test stick wasn't working anyway as the line to say it was working didn't come up. I got two in set so i'm thinking of just leaving it to tomorrow morning - i'm too nervous to do it though coz i just so badly want a positive result.

yes you will definately need a pee in morning no matter how nervous you are lol,i dont use midstream tests for the very reason you have said they can be easy to go wrong i always get the dip sticks that way i can colloct the whole of my sample and then simply count the seconds im dipping it in,i find it much easier to do and i always have plenty to use also if one test fails you still have a good sample to do a second one in right away good luck for tommorow Smile

Thank you.

My mum wants me to do another pregnancy test today (21.06.09) but it's in the night time.

Having drinks and urinating throughout the day change the results?

I'm 7 weeks pregnant now and things seem to be going ok. The only thing is my partner is stressing me about because things he's been doing lately have been getting on my nervous i.e. moaning at me and also his family are doing my head in with the way they carry on over anything they are just really annoying. We have been having a few arguments and we had a really big blow out argument this afternoon - i'm really worried that this will have an effect on my baby. So what i want to know is will it be ok?

Hi rachel,Im not going to say it will or wont be ok because i dont know but what i do know is that you should really avoid massive arguements in future as stress can have an effect on the baby,it raises your blood pressure alot, obviously the more stressed you get the more it raises your blood pressure, also later on in the pregnancy when you get very stressed it increases your babys heart rate and causes it distress,This happened to me when i was having my son i got a huge shock and was enraged and upset and the baby started kicking like crazy inside me but he was ok in the end,it really is better to walk away when your pregnant hope you ok Smile

Thank you, are you ok hun?

I'm nearly 8 weeks pregnant on Monday and i have my first scan on 23rd i'm so excited!

This morning, my partner and i were kissing and we both got really turned on as we haven't been making love for a while and my partner put a little bit off his penis in me but then i pulled away that happened a couple of times but we didn't go further. I feel embarrassed asking this but, it will not hurt the baby or do anything to the pregnancy will it?

I'm really worried that it would have done something...

if u r having a normal pregnancy and the dr or midwife have not advised u against sex then it's fine!!! in fact it releases feel good hormones! i wish u all the best 4 your pregnancy. i am ttc but have been having problems so reading your story has given me hope that pregnancy can happen when least expected!

you can have sex during your pregnancy all you want, up until the end. I'm sure you've asked your doctor all of this by now. Razz

Good luck to you!!! That's really exciting.
