Hello i am a 34 year old woman who had not had sex for 10 months but 4 days ago had intercourse. After sex noticed some bleeding but since then i have been bleeding very heavey and bright red. It is definitley not my menstrual cycle as that was 1 and half weeks ago. I am getting very worried now. Should i go to a dr?

Did you take a mirror and looked at where it is coming from? It may be a tear in the vulva.

Normally these things heal by themselves. Sometimes stitches is needed. If it is heavier than a period, or lasts longer, it may be time to see your doctor.

Its definitely appearing to come from inside...it is heavier than period and bright red in colour...and think i have also panicked myself looking at online diagnosis'...however i think i'll just make a doc apointment just to put mind at rest even though i do have regular smears. thanks Smile
