Hi, on the 23rd December (11 days ago) I bumped the left side of my head very hard on an iron staircase. The blow was direct to the left corner of my left eyebrow, top left eye socket area. My left eye instantly went purple and closed up. The next day i could open it a little but the bruising was very bad. The next day the bruising also spread to the lower eye socket on my right eye.

The bruising has now gone from my left eyelid, but remains under both my eyes. The left side is still painful, there is a small lump, like a pea to the left of my eyebrow but there is no bruising there.

I have been applying ice for periods everyday, and towards the end of the days i have felt quite dizzy, a bit like sea sickness. Yesterday was the first day this didnt happen.

If i raise my eyebrows i feel a pulling on my left temple area. I have rested pretty much since the injury.

Prior to the injury i was taking a low dose aspirin as a precaution for a long distance flight that i had to take. So im guessing this could've made the bruising worse.

Please advise if i should see a doctor at this stage, if it is normal to still have pain after 11 days and if i should keep taking the aspirin?

Many thanks

Ok, i went to the doctors 10 days ago,my doctor felt the area and checked my ears and eyes, she didnt want to send me for an xray at this stage. She said that as i had been taking low dose aspirin and was also taking ibuprofen for the pain had prolonged the healing of my injury. Now it is 3 weeks since i bumped my head, the swelling has mostly gone (just a little still over the left temple) and there is not bruising, but i have still got a very tight feeling on my left temple and a small lump there. I have started to get mild headaches and sometimes feel a little dizzy. Does anyone know if this is normal after an injury like this?
