i had a mole removed last year off my neck which was found to have a melanoma on it, they removed some more skin from that area plus an extra four moles on my back, but no melanoma was detected. I have suffered quite alot of back pain since I had my child two years ago but in the last year I have had severe pains in my shoulders and neck. I have been for physiotherapy and accupuncture for it but the muscles just wont relax. The last few weeks have been dreadful for pain, and now I am having pains down both arms regularly. No medication is helping and nothing is relaxing these
muscles, I have even for deep tissue massages but they havent helped.
Do you think maybe the melanoma is related to this or the surgery I had? Its only an inch of skin taken off for each mole so I wouldnt have thought any muscles wouldve been effected.

Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum and thanks for writing

Shoulder and neck pain can be due to various reasons as improper posture, disease or injury to the nerves, spine and muscles, after effects of melanoma or shoulder impingement syndrome which causes irritation and inflammation of the rotator cuff and the bursa when doing overhead activity and hence pain.

It is diffcult to comment without a physical examination. You require investigations as X ray and MRI scan which would help in ruling out the exact cause.Kindly consider visiting a Physician for assessment so that appropriate treatment can be started soon.

Take care!
