Q: Is lump on stomach ingrown hair

this is kind of embarrassing but here goes Embarassed I have this red bump on my stomach I think it might be a ingrown hair or something annoying like that. It's just above my belly button so my pants really bother it. Can anybody tell me what to do? Oh by the way, it's as big as my thumb nail and it's red. I had a thing like this years ago under my arm that had to be lanced(cut open) I really want to advoid that again (it hurt!!and bled alot and I had to get stiched up cough ) So please, tell me how to advoid having to go to my doctor

Hi and welcome

I don't think you can avoid going to the doctor for this it sounds like a boil or abscess. This happened to my sister many years ago, hers was on the inner thigh, they had to lance it and put a drain in for about a week. It started as a pimple but from the clothing rubbing it that made it worse.

Don't delay call your doctor, with it being that size I think you should be seen by your doctor.
