Hi
I'm 17. For the last few months I got my periods regularly. But there was no regular bleeding in October.Towards the end of October I got my periods and it has almost been 3 weeks since the bleeding began. There is heavy flow. This is the second time that my period is lasting for more than 7 days. I'm quite worried about this.Is this normal among girls of my age?

It is not quite normal. Are you on the pill?

Speak to your doctor about it. And take an iron supplement to get some of your energy back.

No.I'm not on pills.I can find that the endometrium is still being disposed.Could this be because I didn't have my periods in the last month?

Thankfully your flow does not double when you skip a period.

First missing a period and then bleeding for more than 3 weeks is a good sign that you need to speak to your doctor, nurse or clinic. It can be just a hormonal imbalance, or something else. But only your doctor can do the tests to determine what is going on.
