Hello TMJJames,

Just keep your teeth apart. When you swallow, rest your front teeth on your tongue to help avoid contacting your teeth together.

Keep your head up level or more looking up (lean the chair back a bit to help level or upward posture of the head).

If you have a splint or appliance, make sure you wear it. I have TMJ Disorder, and when I was flying, made sure I wore my splint.
If you are worried about too much movement or grinding, you can buy a mouth guard at the drugstore. Not very attractive, but effective enough.
Also, if you are going to nap get a neck pillow (the kind that wraps around your neck) this will help to keep your head straight.
