Is it harder having a baby boy than girl?
Posted: 05-03-08 09:56am

I am alittle nervous about having a boy what are health things I should expect or care in the first few months I should know about. I didnt really educate myself because I figured it would be just like when I had my daughter but alot of people are telling me different. Is there anyone out there that has a girl and boy?

You'll need to make a decision whether to have your son circumcized or not. I suggest you do a bit of research about the pros and cons and make an informed decision.

Also, baby boys have a tendency of peeing during diaper changes. They can pee on you and on themselves. You'll quickly learn to cover his boy bits with something like a washcloth or a "peepee teepee". Wink

Apart from that, there doesn't seem to be anything else I can think of. Hopefully you'll get more responses.

Yes I am going to get him circumcized but I read alittle about it and it sounds scary and painful for him.

do you mean health-wise? aside from boys having penises and girls having vaginas i don't think they're any different. i have a boy and a girl, my daughter is only a month old but she's exactly the same as my son was as a newborn.

as for the circumcision, research it and do what's best for you and your son. if it helps, my son was circumcised at 2 days old and he didn't even cry during the procedure. just make sure they use an anesthetic because i've heard some doctors don't. also, he never showed any signs of discomfort during diaper changes while he was healing and within days it was completely healed.

hmmm what about the long run? i would think that girls would be easier to raise until teenagehood because of the emotional states but seems like boys would be harder in the younger years because boys tend to be more careless, agressive and less responsive to what they are being told to do. meh just a comment... no real deep thought there just curious cuz this thread got me to thinking a lil. lol =)
