is it considered a "heart attack" if there is no damage?

My father, 81 yr old generally good health (5'10" 165lbs), had chest pains and nausea. After taking aspirin, he was taken immediately to hospital and stint was placed due to 70 to 90% blockage in an artery, then released the following day. Report says no heart damage. Now, is that considered a "heart attack" or something else if there is no damage? Also, can he resume normal activity, like driving?
