I have an irregular heavy flow (period comes anytime between 30 days and 63 days)that makes it difficult for me to survive the first 2 days of my period. i get horrific cramps and my legs get so weak at times i cannot get out of bed from the pain and weakness. i don't want my period to interfere with my life. is it advisable to go on the pill for a few month just to make my period regular and lighter?

I was originally put on the pill to regulate my cycle, and it did work to make my periods regular and slightly less crazy. But to be honest, while the pill shortened the length of time I was bleeding, it didn't change how heavily I bled. Two years ago I went on Seasonique and now only have a period every three months. It's A LOT better to know exactly when your period is coming and how long it will last, so in that way, birth control has helped me immensely. But as far as how heavy my period is, birth control hasn't really changed it. I am your same age and also have no kids. I would go to your gyno and talk to him/her about it--it's worth a try!
