I'm going to hospital next week to get Shockwave treatment for a 9mm stone. But I've been reading about it on the internet and am now scared. It says there is a risk of increased blood pressure, diabetes, and even organ damage?! Should I abandon the treatment?

There is a long list of complications or side effects associated with any form of treatment, but there are patient factors ( risk factors and comorbidities) which also need to be taken into consideration.

ESWL is the best treatment option for stones larger than 5 mm . So if you are symptomatic then you should go ahead with the proposed mode of therapy
