i dont really believe in birth control.... i am a single-parent and love my son dearly... his dads not around, so its not like im just talking about things i have no right to..... i just think that birth control is a reason to not be responsible for your actions..... looking for some opinions i guess.... kinda curious if anyone else has thought of these things...

obviously most people in this forum are on birth control, thats why we ask questions. i find you accusation that we are not responsible for our actions to be extremely rude and out of line. if anything im being MORE responsible by not bringing a child into this world when i cannot give it the proper care. if you applied these feeling to abortion then i would agree, but for birth control i think you are very mistaken.

I am happily married, I have been for YEARS.

I refuse to POP out a baby every time I have sex.

I have sex at least once a day, my husband and I have a very loving relationship. YOU think it is wrong, POP out all the babies you want..

Just don;t get on welfare, medicaid, food stamps, etc.. and expect everyone else to pay for your kids.

i dont mean to offend anyone- im sinply expressing my views... its responsibility to take care of the children you make- if you cant take care of them, dont make them... dont have sex- is it that hard? i have a son, and i AM on welfare... WHY??? because im a SINGLE mother who is going back to SCHOOL... you know-- the people who welfare was made for.... and guess what-- when i get out of school, i will be repaying the government for what i used of it... its there to help people like me who actually care about the people who give their good tax money to help people like me who intend to further themselves in like and not sit on their butt and let the world pay for them...

and you CAN be intimate without having sex...

you want to talk about respecting people... i have an opinion- i dont take advantage of the program

i dont believe in birth control because it generally doesnt PREVENT pregnancy-- it aborts any pregnancy that may occure before you know about it, so it makes people feel better about killing their kids before you know they are there
try pregnancy prevention-- use condoms if you cant deal with not having sex

not taking responsibility for you actions? i dont understand...i am being responsible by being on birth control because i'm definitely NOT ready for a child...having unprotected sex and getting pregnant(when you're not ttc) is not being responsible...

"If you can't take care of them..dont make them, dont have sex is that hard"

.... how did you manage to get into your position then?...no offense..but, dont preach to me when you are a single mother...were you on birth control?...if not, maybe you should think about who you're accusing of not being responsible here.... what in the heck are you talking about??? clearly you're confused about how birth control work...it IS actually 99% effective in preventing pregnancy for those with perfect use, also..it does NOT abort any pregnancy, i have no clue how you got misinformed here but birth control simply PREVENTS the release of an ovum...if there is no ovum for the sperm, fertilization doesnt occur..an ABORTION occurs AFTER fertilization has taken place....i think you're confused...there is NO killing/aborting with birth control.....

Wow!

I wonder if you became pregnant from being so incredibly misinformed about birth control. It PREVENTS pregnancy before it can even happen.

Maybe you ought to school yourself on some common sense before you finish your other schooling.

I think its great for people to have opinions on things but if your going to feel strongly about something and express these opinions to others you should be as well informed about the subject as possible (which you obviously are not) As the previous poster said: birth control does NOT abort a pregnancy, it stops a woman from ovulating so that pregnancy cannot occur in the first place.

Secondly what is your opinion on those who do not want children for lets say 10 years after they get married? Should they refrain from having sex? I think not. And you say you condoms but do you know condoms have a lower rate of effectiveness then birth control? Birth control is 99% effective when used properly. If someone is using birth control and condoms its damn near impossible to get pregnant.

Providing someone is an adult, sex is a healthy and normal part of any relationship. Your ideas of simply "not having sex" are naive at best. Sex IS an important part of a relationship, just as important as communication, trust etc.

Edited to add: I probably should have looked at how old this post was before responding Rolling Eyes

Using BIRTH CONTROL is taking responsibility..

BC pills PREVENT ovulation, NO EGG = NO pregnancy.

IF you were really going to be responsible, you could have waited until after school to start having sex, instead of using welfare...

I can use the same argument style...

NO, we do not agree. IF you want to have a lot of a babies, FINE, but I am not going to stop having sex because YOU do not like birth control.
