Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site, and I wanted to share with you some important information about UTI. I have been suffering from a chronic urinary infection for about 15 years (was suffering from 10-15 infections a year) and for the most part I was treated with antibiotics. 3 years ago I started implementing some serious changes in my diet and modified my method of treatment to a more "natural" one. As a result, my chronic condition had started improving to such an extent, that the past 2 years left me with.... 0 infections!

The issue of urinary infections is increasingly a great medical concern as so many women tend to suffer from it and antibiotics don't seem to provide a good enough means of treatment in many cases.
When approaching the matter it is important to understand a few principles before hand.

1) about 50% of all women experience at least one urinary infection throughout their life if not more.
2) only 50% of those will solve their urinary infection with the help of antibiotics.
3) Even when antibiotics help they are NEVER enough- it is also required to apply preventative methods (especially during treatment) and change of diet.
4) It is very recommended to also apply some natural remedy ALONG with the antibiotic usage, in order to help the antibiotic fight bad bacteria AND in order to minimize the damages caused by the antibiotic itself to the immune system.
5) A single urinary infection that is improperly diagnosed or treated can result in a chronic urinary infection! a damaged lining of the bladder due to a urinary infection can provides a comfortable breading place for bad bacteria on it's next visit to our tract, and it is difficult for antibiotics to reach some of those places. The advantage of a special diet (like eating yogurt and cranberries) and using herbal medicine.

To sum it all up:
If you can avoid urinary infections WITHOUT antibiotic usage, and yet ERADICATE the infections all together, than you have bought your world. This way you avoid a decrease in your immune system, annoying side affects like fungus, AND a recurring urinary infection.
If you CANNOT manage without antibiotics, than at least do yourself a favor and DO IT PROPERLY! Meaning to say that - apply all known preventative methods, strengthen your immune system, and support your bladder's health with proper diet and herbal supplementary.

Hope this post finds you in the best of health!

Sounds good
I like all of it except the use of the anti-biotics. Many of them have some horrid, long term, permanently damaging side effects so you should only use them if it's a choice of that or near death! There are plenty of great natural, completely harmless products that do a far better job of getting rif of the bacteria than the anti-biotics ever can without severely damaging your body. I use a WONDERFUL product called Waterfall D-Mannose, but there are lots of things similar that are a far better idea than the alternative.

PS: I know that I've mentioned it before, but, cranberry doesn't help with any more than about 2% of UTIs, and the remainder it actually makes worse! Get some lemon in you, that has an alkalising effect on your urine and for the opposite 98% it DOES help!
