Hello,
I usually don't really get on forums, but I'm currently in a foreign speaking country and find I'm having a very difficult time going to a doctor without suffering some severe anxiety.
Firstly, I'll start out by stating I'm -not- sexually active. I have engaged in sex, but not for quite awhile now.
About two and a half years ago I began having really, really irregular cycles. I've never particularly been regular, but these were fairly extreme. It began with feeling tired all the time, and having severe pain in the area of my ovaries. I would experience extremely long two-five week periods where I felt like I'd bleed to death due to the sheer amount of blood and clots, and then I would go three months with out a period at all, only to get another horrific one for another two-five weeks.
During this time, my breasts were sore, I cramped, I experienced nausea at varying points and my sense of taste and smell went off. At this point, my sisters were telling me I was pregnant, which was impossible due to lack of intercourse (or anything sexual). After awhile, the breast tenderness and the nausea went away, but I experienced cramps and tiredness for awhile after that. I also began putting on an unfortunate amount of weight.
In addition to this, whenever I wouldn't be having my period, if I would exercise or stand for long periods, I would spot for about a day afterwards, and then it would stop again and when I was bleeding, I was unable to wear tampons due to pain when inserted. When I -was- sexually active in the past, I would occasionally have very sharp pains during intercourse right above my mons and a bit below my navel. Pretty much right in bend between my belly and pubic region. I'm not entirely sure if that's relevant, but I figured I'd cover everything.
I finally buckled and went to a OBGYN, with a translator present, but the doctor seemed very rushed and I was mildly panicked (it was my first visit to a gynecologist so freaked out all around). However, he did an ultrasound of my ovaries and uterous and said everything looked fine aside a small fibroma in my uterous, which he said shouldn't be causing the pain and period issues.
That was roughly about three months ago, and I hadn't had a period for two months before going there and I -still- haven't had one since. My sense of taste has slowly gotten to where I can't eat anything sweet because they're too sweet or leave intolerable aftertastes, I'm unable to lose the weight I gained and (as embarrasing as this is) I seem to have increased hair growth mostly in my chin area. Not a whole lot, but I usually have about a dozen or so very wiry hairs trying to sprout on occasion. Very embarrasing, but practically transparent and controllable through plucking. However, everything taken into account it's still troubling and I've been unable to get any inkling as to what's going on. Especially considering the mild panic attacks and that when I did get a consult, they said my ovaries looked fine, despite them not working fine.
Thanks in advance.
