Irregular periods are a common side effect of depo contraception. You can never know how your body will react on the hormones from an outside source. Certain women have no periods at all, others have heavy periods and various women have regular periods similar to normal periods (pseudomenstruations). There is nothing to worry about as long as there are no heavy and prolonged “periods”.
