Q: Irregular Period on Birth Control

After I get my period I take my birth control the Sunday after. I took my birth control at the time I usually do but still had spotting. I thought that was fine consider I had just gotten over my period. As the week continued on I still had spotting and tonight I had just gotten my period. I haven't missed any pills and have been taking them the same time everyday. Is that normal to happen?

how long have you been on birth control? are you positive you are taking ALL of your pills on time? Your first sentence kinda threw me off..what do you mean after you get your period you take your bc the sunday after? you should be constantly taking pills whether it be placebos or the active pills there should be no break in pills...after you finish the placebos for your one pack you go straight into the next pack no matter if your period is over or not...also, if you just started the pill usually it takes about a month or two for your body to adjust so typically during the first month there is spotting

I've been on birth control for about three years now. I am positive I take them all on time. What I mean about taking them on sunday is that the last pill in my pack ends on the sunday then I get my period and my pack starts again on the sunday following. There is a week where I just take my sugar tablets and thats when I have my period. Buts its strange because I haven't missed any and I all the sudden have it again.

Just keep taking your pills-- breakthrough bleeding is common and sometimes there's not a clear reason as to why it happens.

If you continue to bleed mid pack then speak with your birth control provider about possibly switching pills.

Your period will be a little irregular if you started mid cycle.

Are on your placebo pills right now? If you are worried, then take a pregnancy test.
