Dear Doc,
Since the Jan 2010 my period didn't come regular. After the 3rd month without period & i thought i was pregnant, my period came back. but then it skipped a month..the last period was more like a spotting than a full period. But since the irregularity of my period started, i still feel carmps & other period symptoms. Now i frequently pee & do no.2. i feel like the walls in my private parts are abit swollen(the last time i had sex with my husband there was slight blood spots afterwards). But my breasts are not swollen. I don't have any cravings. I have gained weight but i'm a plus size woman so losing & gaining weight is normal for me. So do you think i'm pregnant? I haven't done any test but would like your opinion..

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum. I am really glad to help you out. The delayed periods can happen because of hormonal imbalance, increased stress, eating disorder, increased smoking, alcohol or caffeine use and medical conditions like PCOS, fibroid, polyps and endometriosis.

However, if you had had an unprotected sexual intercourse, then pregnancy needs to be ruled out by doing a pregnancy test and an ultrasound of the pelvis. The ultrasound will not only help in the confirmation of pregnancy but will also facilitate in the looking for the cause of irregular periods. Please do consult a gynaecologist for the same. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
