Q: Irregular period and trying to conceive

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for the past 3 months. However, my irregular periods have made it difficult for us. In July I was at a 28 day cycle, August went up to 42 days and now I have yet to see it. Is there anything I can do (without going to the doctor) to regulate my periods? Also, I have been experiencing some minor cramps for the past few days and noticed a clear stringy discharge and my nipples are extremely sore. Does this mean I am ovulating?

Thank you for all your help!

Chances are good that if you notice egg white type discharge that you are close to ovulating. BUT, just because you get that discharge does not guarantee it. It's best to double check your discharge while charting your BBT. Do a search online for fertility charting and you'll find all sorts of info to help. My husband and I have been TTC for the past 5 months and charting has reduced my stress by a lot! Good luck!
