I am having irregular heavy bleeding and the bleeding is not red is brown.I had a pap smear completed and they said that the results were abnoraml. Does this effect my cycles and how is there a hormone or some type of birth control pill that I can be placed on.I have currently had my tubes tied for the past 8 years. I am not sure of what to do? The obgyn I am currently seeing does not seem to know what she is doing.

Brown colour is what doctors refer to as 'old blood'.

Do some research into what birth Control pill is most suitable for you. you need to take into account age, weight, smoker / non smoker etc. When you think you've found one, ask the advice of your doctor and see if he / she agrees with you. The pill should help regulate your cycles and make them lighter and less painful.
