Iron deficiency , bruising , guttate psorias

Hey i'm new here and just wanted to see if anyone had any advice/help for me Smile

I've been quite healthy up untill now with only a few colds and stuff here and there but since about the end of October, i've been in and out of my doctor's non-stop and the reason I'm posting here is because I don't feel fulfilled with what they've told me and I'd like to see if anyone on here could help me out.
I go to the doctors in my college and two of them have treated me at various times, so I don't really think either of them know or care about everything thats going on.
So, i went into the dr about iron deficiency as i had had it the year before and thought it was returning, but i also complained about bruising which i thought was from the iron but she told me it was not related, i got blood tests done, and they returned with low iron, something to do with my vitamin K which she did not explain, wheater i'm too high or low. She also told me that two of my liver functions were down (i don't drink so one of them was not affected) so she just said, i should try get my iron up take tablets if i felt like it but it was not neccesary, and to come back in a month for more blood tests, in the month i didn't take iron tablets and when i went back she gave out to me, i explained she hadnt told me it was neccessary to take them so i was just eating more red meat, anyway, those results came back and my iron got better, but my liver had worsened, no mention of vitamins this time around thoughm she said she had sent off samples to get tested for a viral infection cause that could be what was causing my liver problems, this was sometime in November, near the end i think, and i have still not been called back to get my results on that. But in the meantime, i developed guttate psoriasis so i was back there, i didn't get much information about that either of the doctor just that i should put cream on it and if it didnt go away i could go back and get steroids.
So sorry about the rant here, but basically I'm wondering could tere be anything going on that the doctors are neglecting? Or am i just being too paranoid?

Just a bit of information on myself to add, I'm 18, female, i dont drink, don't smoke, don't drink tea or coffee and don't do any drugs, i try not take pain killers unless its really needed, i had jaundice as a baby, my bruises are all over my body and of various sizes and colours, some only last a few days but others will last 2 weeks.

Again sorry about the extremely long post, i look forward to hearing from you!

I started a rash the beginning of 2010. After 2 weeks when it spread to most of my body, I went to a doctor and they said its pityriasis a rash caused by a virus. Let it run its course. After 6 weeks, I saw a dermatologist. She said oh you have guttate psoriasis. Its usually caused by strep. I teach and many of my students had strep in December and January. She gave me Lidex cream to spread all over my body 2x a day. It is helping and the spots are fading slowly (its been 2 wks now). I also got a solution clobetasol (alcohol and acid) and it cleared up the spots on my scalp (in 1-2 weeks). If another month of Lidex cream doesn't clear it all up, I may have to get phototherapy 3x a week for 10 weeks which is very effective. This is all so frustrating. I'm not a doctor but I do admit I've been under a lot of stress in my life lately and I'm not in the best shape physically. I think this greatly contributed to my psoriasis and maybe this is why it is lingering and not healing as quick. Good luck.

Isnt B12 sopposed to help. I was told to take it for blood loss but not sure if your issue would be considered the same. As far as that skin condition, I would see a dermatitis. Ask the doctor if you can take milk thistle for your liver. You have to watch what you take with that, it could interact with other meds but its sopposed to help the liver. Most Dr's dont believe in herbs so dont let them tell you its not scientificaly proven. I hate that. Also, it would not hurt to use Selsun Blue or a generic Selsun blue for that skin issue. It clears up alot of stuff and my nurse uses only that as a body wash. Try it for a while and see if it helps. Biotin and L-Lysine is sopposed to be good for the skin too. Weather or not it will help. I dont know for certain. Wouldnt hurt. Good luck!

Here is an update. It's now been 3 months with my guttate psoriasis. It gets better then gets worse. Stress is definitely adding to the problem and making it linger. My dermatologist doesn't want to do phototherapy (light therapy) for now until somethings in my life have settled down. This should happen in June when I go on vacation and separate from my husband. In the meantime, she suggested to get lots of sun. So now that the weather is better, I laid out 1 hour 1 day and my spots really cleared up (don't use sunscreen it will stop the sun getting to the spots). Problem is now its rainy and the spots are getting worse again. I think I need to go to a tanning salon 2-3 times a week. I'll keep you posted.
