Hi
I was recently diagnosed with an hyperactive thyroid and was put on meds for 6months. Unfortunately the thyroid didnt balance itself and I'm told I will need to either have surgery or radioiodine treatment to get me back on track. I'm scared of both but if I must I will opt for the less invasive treatment.
I've been doing my own research though to find out whether other types of treatments were available such as holistic/homeopathic. I've heard that iodine supplements can help but I was told by NHSdirect that this is not a good solution and I should steer clear. I used to incorporate seagreens in my diet and have stopped because I panicked in thinking I was slowly killing myself. I'm unsure which direction to go in really and the worse thing is that I'm told that there are many people with thyroid problems but I'm the only one I know.
What do you think? Am I being overly paranoid, should I steer clear of the greens and just go with the doc?
