Q: Intradural Acacnoid Cyst
asked by: DoctorQuestion on May 18th, 2009
I have an Intradural Aracnoid Cyst from T5-T8. It is impinging on the sub-aracnoid space. Is this a serious condition. Does the cyst eventually have to be removed? I have a herniated disk at T/9-10. I have been suffering from rib pain and middle back pain. I don't think it's the cyst either.

Hi
Welcome to the forum!
Intradural Aracnoid Cyst from T5-T8 impinging on the subarachnoid space, if not causing any symptom today, will eventually cause pressure symptoms and will need to be removed.
If you have a herniated disc between t9-10 and have rib and chest pain, then probably the symptoms are due to the herniated disc and not the cyst.
However without examining you and taking a look at your MRI, it is difficult to give a confirmed diagnosis and treatment on net. Hope this helps. Take care!
