Hey everyone- my girlfriend was just diagnosed with IC and diet plays a huge role in controlling the flair ups. She was given a list of food and drinks to avoid and one of them is coffee...and she is an avid coffee drinker. We've been trying to find a replacement for it but nothing has worked so far. I found this one brand called Tylers Coffee, has anyone ever tried? Turns out their decaf is approved by the I.C. Network and it doesn't cause my girlfriend's IC to flair up like normal coffee would. Just wanted to share that with everyone!

Yes I also drink Tylers Coffee for my acid-reflux issues. I am definitely a proponent!

I'm glad your girlfriend has found an alternative that works for her!

Oh, Lord, no coffee. I know my doctor told me that coffee was a no no at the beginning, but I love my coffee, and have continued to drink it because I really didn't think it was the IC that was causing my pain, because bowel movements was the thing that would really start up my pain. I had previously had a lot of pain from a hysterectomy, and then an enterocele repair and I was sure the pain was coming from the vaginal cuff, but now I do think at least some of it is coming from IC.I also had not had any alcohol in nearly 30 yrs. but recently started having a few drinks at night when my pain meds for the day had worn off, and I've wondered if that makes it worse, also. I was in a lot of pain last night after drinking a couple glasses of wine. Where do you find this Tylers coffee you referred to? Guess I need to comply with the IC diet and at least see if it helps. Thanks for the tip.
