I am a 67-year-old man. My primary care doctor this week ordered me to take an echocardiacgram test. When we got the results the doctor wasnt too concerned but I would like another opinion. My doctor doesnt like to refer to a specialist. The main findings are 1) moderate aortic valve sclerosis with no measurable gradient and 2) stage 1 diastolic dysfunction. Some of the numbers: left ventricle is 4.3 cm, ejection franction is 69%, diastolic flow across the mitral valve shows an E/A of 0.9, deceleration time of 296 and E/E prime is 15. A trivial pericardial effusion is seen. Interventricular septum is 0.8 cm, posterior wall is o.8 cm. Thank You.

Echocardiogram test, in your case, shows some heart damages but your heart still has reserves to compensate.
You can consult some cardiologist for further evaluation of your heart function.
