i am wanting to know the reason a woman should wait six weeks after having a stillbirth before having intercourse again. my wife and i have had a stillbirth 22 weeks along. she delivered 1 week ago. no definite reason has been givin for the reason intercourse should be postponed. i understand there are surgical issues as well as discomfort or pain. but we would like to know if there is any severe danger in intercourse before the alotted time peroid

I'm sorry for your loss.
It's the same as if she had delivered a live baby. Her body needs time to heal and get back to normal. I don't think it's asking too much for you to wait.
Severe danger? I doubt it. I know a woman who had two kids 9 1/2 months apart- neither of them was premature. And she had no health problems. But why risk it???? Isn't your wife's health and well being worth a little sacrifice?
