Q: Intense stomach pain after eating

Wondering if anyone could provide some possible insight into what is happening.

For the past 3 x day my boyfriend has eaten breakfast and almost immediately he starts sweating and feeling really unwell. Within minutes is doubled over in agony with stomach aches. He said it's not a stabbing pain but just intense pain that is in the center of his belly and is both upper and lower. This lasts for around 3 x hours and the pain is intense. He spends this entire time rolling around on the floor in pain and moaning. This morning he had the worst reaction of all, also vomitting twice. The common food that he's eating when these 3 x episodes have happened are: eggs, tomatoes, orange juice. It doesn't cause a burning sensation or anything in his mouth, throat or chest... just when the food hits his stomach. He's 31 years old and is fit and healthy, doesn't drink, doesn't smoke etc. We can't get to a doctor till Monday, unless we go to the hospital which he doesn't want to do..... can someone help?

Personally, he should lay off the eggs... I went through that when I ate eggs, it was like food poisoning.

This later, changed and it was later on something else.... gallstones... the pain will only get worse.. please seek medical advice as soon as possible, even if you get like a radio doctor in... then he / she can decide on what to do straight away...

A radio doctor, is just a doctor who works after hours, and who is on call.... day or night..

The symptoms you described are too general to be able to tell what is wrong with him. Eerything I've found, with the exception of stomach ulcers, is severe enough that he needs immediate tretment. You should go to the emergency room. There's no point in suffering needlessly.

thanks!
Thanks for all the advice. I ended up taking him to the hospital on Saturday night as the pain came back and was extremely severe. The doctor ran blood tests and they all came back completely normal. So the doctor ruled out anything wrong with his pancreas, liver, kidney. Even though he was throwing up again by this stage his white blood count even came back normal? The doctor was stumped and said that the location of the pain indicated that it was definately something with his stomach but ??? He has suggested he goes on "Ranitrdine" for a month which is meant to stop acid forming? He said he thought it could either be an ulcer or acid reflux??? He then went to a doctor today that basically said that he should just do that and see how it goes? Neither said anything about gallstones? When I went to the chemist today they said there's a breath test for ulcers that are caused by bacteria? Anyone know about these?

I'm not completely convinced it's an ulcer but kinda hoping it is as it seems a diet including cabbage juice and licorice can help the mending process?

I had the same symptoms ..i went to the ER 3 times in one day and kept getting told i had gas..it turned out to be gall stones. It is very painful i have delivered 3 children and gallstones hurt worse than any labor pain.

Glad he is doing better. He may do well for a while and then it may hit again.

Has he had the inside of his stomach looked at?

I wonder if he was experiencing gastritis (inflammation of the stomach)...which is very painful and can come and go.

Test for bacteria...pylori...it is a breath test...very simple. Did he have that done?

Yeah, was thinking that could happen.

No, hasn't had a camera down into his stomach yet. The hospital doctor did blood test that came back fine and the GP was useless and even though I told my boyfriend to make sure he did a breathe test... he didn't? Anyway....

What's gastritis caused by? What a gallstones caused by? Does anyone know?

He's still eating lots of Cabbage and licorice just incase it was / is an ulcer. He will have to go to another doctor and get that breath test done!!!
