Hi, I have been fighting back pain since I was roughly 16, I am now 22. The pain limits my standing and sitting, some times even laying down. It has gotten worse with age. It effects mainly my right side going into my hip. I have had an MRI and xrays done but they dont show anything. Ive done physical therapy and excercise and I cant seem to shake it. Ive had periods where it doesnt get to bad for awhile but then it just flares up. My chiropractor says there is inflamation in my sciatic. Sorry if I havent put enough information here, Im new to forums. Has anyone ever had this type of problem or have any ideas? My chiropractor says he is out of options.

How old is the MRI you had done?

Have you seen a spine specialist for proper diagnosis and suggested treatment?

Your chiropractor is wrong, 100% wrong. You are far from out of options.

First thing you need to do is see a spine specialist, either an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in spines or a neurosurgeon who specializes in spines only.

I would suggest that you try to find a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon that specializes in spines.

You need proper evaluation of your spine, proper diagnosis of what is going on and why you are suffering like you have been.

You may need a new MRI and other tests to determine what is going on.

A chiropractor is not the person you should be seeing to diagnose or treat your spinal issues, you need a spine surgeon to diagnose you.

Don't be afraid of the title spine surgeon. Just because the specialty is spine surgeon, doesn't mean that you need or will need surgery. their specialty is spine diagnosis, treatment and surgery if needed.

Surgery is always the last resort and unless it is an emergency surgery, surgery will always be the last option after trying any and all conservative measures.

Good luck, and see a spine surgeon for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Let us know how you are doing.
