I was diagonsed with Pcos last spring due to irregular periods, acne and extra weight around my waist that just wont go. I have also had intense pain ever since I started having periods, my doctor in Wales said that it was nothing to worry about it's just the syndrome and gave me Mefanamic Acid for pain relief, I thought nothing of it and took the pills.
unfortunatly I was recently admitted to hospital for other reasons but they seemed to think it was connected gyaenacologically one doctor even guessed that I may have PID (luckly they were wrong) but then I was talking to the doctor who discharged me and he suddenly drop the bomb shell that i shouldn't get pain with Pcos. Mad
So now i'm totally confused, any advice or suggestions is very welcome? baffle

Have you gotten any tests (an ultrasound most likely) to see if you have ovarian cysts? if you do, that could explain the pain.

Well thats the thing i've had 2 ultarsounds, firstly to confirm it and the second to see if there was anything else. I am now waiting for a laporoscopy as my doctors are baffled because the pain is irregular and can happen at anytime and is extremely painful and no-one nows why. Does anyone else have this problem?

I have this problem! The pain is so intense, I am usually doubled over in a fetal position for hours at a time! No one else can figure it out. I have been to over 10 specialists and it is so baffling to everyone. You are not alone! Like you, I have done all the ultrasounds, laproscopies, exams, medications... nothing works right?

Yes the pain has been so bad in the past that i had to give up work as I couldn't stand up, it's nice too know i'm not alone but it worries me that no one can find the cause. I hope that for all of us they find a cure!

I used to get unbearable pain with my periods, I started at 12, and for 2 years I had to have that time off of school.
I was given those M-acid tablets too, they didn't work for me, no pain relief.
I was then put on the pill when I was 14, and I have not yet had any overly painfull periods on it.
Unless you are trying for a baby or for medical reasons cant go on the pill I would try it.

Yes, it is frustrating when no one can find relief. I had pain so bad, I took off work a lot and lost my job. It is hard to stand in front of your students when you are doubled over on the floor. I understand your frustration. I am in your boat and storming to an unknown destination. Keep me posted and I will keep you posted. Maybe we can swap stories and come up with our own answers! Smile

Menstruation pains
I've had pain during menses my whole life. Motherwort leaf tea helps and so does a heated bean bag and a cup of warmed milk. My doctor confirmed I have ovarian and breast cysts, and so does my sister.. runs in the family. Hurts alot and makes working unbearable. I don't take pain relief pills cause they CAUSE pain in other areas.. like an ulcer feeling.

One time, I had these pains right on Christmas with my boyfriend's whole family over. Oh boy, was that hard to deal with. I took pain pills and I spent nearly the whole day doubled over in the bathroom because I get loose stools at the same time as my menses as well. I was really embarrassed!

I wish you all the best of health !!
