Hi,
I am having a recurrent problem with my nasal septum. Inside my right nose hole on the septum I keep recurrently getting a large horizontal split, the split happens about 1cm up from the bottom of my nose on the septum, sometimes it is fairly deep and I can see the cartilidge. It heals up fairly quickly in a few days, but then a few weeks later I will feel a pop and it has split again. It is really rather annoying and at times painful. Any idea why it would split like this?

I have the same problem. Someone told me it could be a fungal infection but I doubt that. Seems lots of people have this problem. Your nose may be dry. I'm not sure what causes mine but it's super sensitive. Put hydrogen peroxide on it and then neosporin both with a qtip it should help and relieve the pain. If it persists go to the doctor.
