I love short, friendly, old-fashioned, unpretentious names, and right now I'm really into the name Mack.

Only problem is I don't like any of the formal versions: none of the Mc names, not Macaulay, not Cormac, not Maxwell. I like plain old Mack.

His full name would be Mack Lewis Kliner. Can I get away with that as a real name?

If you like that name, I say go for it. Just about anything goes right now. Who knows, you might just bring up a new trend.

Here's some comments about it, but in the end, it's up to you.
