Q: Inflamed Shoulder

My father is 58 and works in the Marble and Granite Business. He tripped today and his shoulder is either swollen or inflamed or both. Until he can see a doctor, what steps can we take to make the swelling pain go down so he might be able to work.

Does any one think acupuncture might be an alternative. The last thing I wanna rely on is prescription pain killers. Our family doctor once prescribed Oxycontin for him and I told him not to take them.

He solved the problem by sleeping differently.. (glad he didnt use the meds!)

So inflammed shoulder -- any suggestions ?
