Although I brush twice a day and floss every night, I'm always chastised by my hygienist about my gum health when I go in for a cleaning. I recently read that oral contraceptive use can lead to poor gum health. Prior to using birth control, I always had perfectly healthy gums. I want to know if there is anything I can do to improve the health of my gums while remaining on birth control. Would brushing or flossing more frequently help?
