Hi I have a daughter which is schedule for operation tonight July 28 2008 for having a appendicitis , I need an immediate decision for her operation. The doctors just have a blood test and they claimed that my daughter have infectious appendicitis. So it goes like this the whole night for 10 hours my daughter is suffering terrible pain in her right side belly. She was confine in the hospital and she was treated a stomach reliever and having with the dextros injected. No food intake. After 3 hours observation the pain was gone and she is hungry, thirsty and wants to eat food. But doctors say they have to observe first and insisting to have an appendicitis operation. The pain is gone. The question is do we have to continue the operation even the pain is gone? How long it will take to have an appendicitis? Its an overnight pain. Thank you and needed your opinion.

Appendicitis followup
Hi Aleseo

I hope your daughter is fine now and there was no pain again. Did doctor ask for any further checkup or anyfurther monitoring? Did any doctor mentioned how safe was it to decide not to go for an operation? Does it mean she did not have appendicitis at all?
Thanks.
